The best treats from my childhood

It’s October, Halloween is coming up, and I’ve been craving sweets lately.

Craving sugary things isn’t unusual for me, but these cravings are coming with flashbacks of a time long forgotten. A sweeter time. A time when I lived with my parents and had to use my modest allowance if I wanted to buy treats. Lately, I’ve been wanting to revisit this time.

Seriously–it’s time to take a trip back to the good old days. Here are some of my favorite bad-for-you snacks from my childhood:

Fruit Roll-ups

They seem to have forgotten to put quotation marks around “Fruit” Roll-Ups.

I thought I should throw in this amazing jacket MADE OF FREAKIN’ FRUIT ROLL-UPS for good measure.

Gushers

Gooey, gushy, and really sucks when it squirts in your eye.

Dunkaroos

Vanilla with rainbow sprinkles was my ultimate combo.

YES

Since writing this blog post, I GOT MY OWN DUNKAROOS for the first time in years! THIS WAS AMAZING. AMAAAAAAZING.

Sodalicious

Look at you with your pun on 'soda' and 'delicious'. And 'so delicious'. You classy, delicious treat. I think there was a lime one that was particularly awesome. And grape? So delicious.

Rockets

For me, the classic Halloween treat. I'd wait all year until October 31st, and these sweet little pills would appear in my pillowcase (or whatever I was using to collect candy at the time). Were we the only kids to pretend that these were drugs?

What did I miss?
